This plot shows the overlap of Milky Way regions with high neutral hydrogen column density near the galactic plane (gray) and 90% credibility regions of 13 black hole-black hole merger-induced gravitational wave events detected by LIGO since 2015 (y-axis is declination, x-axis is right ascension). The black points represent Swift X-ray Telescope CCD observations that fall within both a dense HI region and a 90% credibility region, making them likely candidates for scattering of potential X-ray counterparts to gravitational waves off of galactic dust.
I'm a junior studying Astrophysics. Right now I'm interested in exoplanets and gravitational waves, and I'm getting into cosmology.
